Canine Artefacts

XolotiThe toy terrier, based on Mesoamerican pre-Columbian tributes to the dog breed that would eventually become the Chihuahua.
FooThe guardian dog, a rusted remnant of the bronze relics from bygone Chinese dynasties.
AtticaThe elegant hound, patterned with the imagery of vases from the red-figure period of ancient Greek pottery.
‘Canine Artefacts’ highlights man’s best friend in different historical contexts.
Each represents an epoch with a distinct craft in which dogs were immortalised, as they have been with us since the dawn of civilisation.
The piece was made for a gallery show in Bogotá. Shown as a framed QR code, a scan opened one of the three at random.
