Toy Creatures

‘Toy Creatures’ is my love letter to Japanese folk toys. These are a dying craft, sadly, so I wanted to bring them to public awareness through digital magic.

I modelled, textured and animated a couple in 3D:

カチカチ車, Kachikachi-guruma, ‘Ka’ for short. The original design is based on a corvid, I imagined it would have a bit of a gloomy personality.きゃあつぐる車, Kyaatsuguro, ‘Ki’ for short. The original design is based on a mallard, I imagined it would have a bright personality.

Other varieties have been modelled and textured, some with newly implemented AI assistence.
The project is still ongoing.
